6-year-old writes book for sick friend, raises $30k with it
2/27/2013Hey, how's that novel you were working on? Coming along? That's good. Well, while you were researching character names, Dylan Siegel was writing "The Chocolate Bar Book" for his sick best friend, Jonah. Jonah has glycogen storage disease type 1B, a literally one-in-a-million disease that leaves his body unable to digest sugars. Dylan wanted to help raise money for Jonah, and his book has currently raised $35,000 for GSD1B research. Dylan remains ambitious: He hopes to raise $1 million, saying, "I like to help my friends; that is the biggest chocolate bar!" Yes, Dylan (*chokes back tears*) — yes, it is. [Source]
