Gun show will not go on after assault rifle ban triggers boycott
1/24/2013Sometimes you just can't win. The Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, scheduled to be held in early February in Harrisburg, Pa., decided to ban assault weapons from the exhibition in the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy. But now organizers have found themselves postponing the nine-day event altogether after the ban itself triggered a vocal boycott. More than 200 vendors reportedly pulled out of the show following the ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines, despite event organizers saying they were only trying "to preserve the event's historical focus on the hunting and fishing traditions."
