20 images show what happens when a lioness gets her paws on a camera

Ed Hetherington recently had his camera stolen, though in this case, he should be happy that’s all he lost. The Atlanta-based wedding photographer was in Zimbabwe shooting wildlife when he encountered a lioness killing a water buffalo. Instead of running off like any sane person, he set up a remote camera (a Canon 5D Mark II) next to the carcass when the lioness wandered off to get a drink of water. When she returned, the curious cat found the camera more interesting than her kill, proceeding to destroy the camera as Hetherington snapped away from a safe distance with a remote control as well as another camera.
