According to Forbes, which took a look at how much Murphy was paid vs. how much his movies took in, studios brought in just $2.30 for every dollar they paid out to him over his last three films. As if the hard math itself weren't harsh enough, Forbes stated that "Murphy's career has just collapsed" amid box-office poison like "Imagine That" and "A Thousand Words." Personally, we haven't seen an Eddie Murphy movie since Norbit – that one's still burned into our memory. [Source]
