Former Louisiana governor and jailbird marries jailbait, gets TV show

1/5/2013

Edwin Edwards reputation for being "colorful" is only getting better with age. The four-term Louisiana governor, now 85 years old, has been busy since being released from an eight-year prison term for bribery and extortion. He promptly married his prison pen pal, the gorgeous Trina, who is, relatively speaking, almost jailbait herself, being 51 years his junior. He's also landed a reality show on A&E that will document the hijinks of his life with Trina, her two teenaged sons and his two daughters, who are in their 60s: one divorced four times, the other a former showgirl. And the banjos played. This gem of a show adds to Louisiana's meteoric rise in reality entertainment circles, which boasts more than seven shows on five cable channels. [Source]
