Empire State Building is tallying election results in lights
11/6/2012Further proof there's no escaping today's election results -- even if you're avoiding your television and just walking down a street in Manhattan. New York City's Empire State Building is displaying the electoral college tally with a ginormous LED-lit meter on the building's spire. It will tally up the votes to 270, adding votes as each state decision is declared. If you're not in New York, CNN is showing off the spire as part of its election night coverage -- in a move, we hope, that will in some way lessen the network's reliance on the embarrassing holograms of the 2008 election.
