Soldiers hunting elephant in Nepal that has killed four people
12/17/2012Soldiers in Nepal are hunting an elephant that officials say has killed four villagers in three months. The elephant entered a house in Gardi village in the south of Nepal on Saturday, pulled an elderly couple from their bed and trampled them to death, according to authorities. The same elephant is thought to have killed two other villagers. Soldiers have been ordered to shoot the elephant "that has gone mad" when they locate the animal. While it's illegal in Nepal to kill elephants, authorities can do so if an elephant is "responsible for the loss of human life." [Source]
