Elliott Sailors was a successful, stunningly blonde supermodel, until age 31, which, sadly, is practically retirement age in modeling. Once offers started to dry up, she decided to try a different tactic: She decided to be a dude. "I'm starting over to have a longer career," Sailors told The New York Post. "Men don't need to look as young as possible, so I have a lot of time." Sailors says the move was fitting for her: "Earlier in my career, I would get frustrated because I thought I looked too masculine. I have a strong jaw, wide forehead, huge eyebrows. I thought I looked like a man wearing makeup."
Sailors binds her breasts and chops her hair short; she shows up to male model casting calls in jeans, boots and flannel. She's even started dressing like a man most days, because it's easier than wearing makeup or heels, a decision that her husband, Adam Santos-Coy, is supportive of, despite the fact that many people apparently now think they're a gay couple.
