Elvis Presley's Bible sells at auction for $94,000
9/10/2012Fans of both The King and The King of Kings got a chance to bid on a one-of-a-kind item at Omega Auctions in Stockport, England, this weekend: Elvis Presley's Bible! The book was a gift from Elvis' uncle and aunt in 1957, and it includes the famed singer's annotations throughout. It sold for $94,000 to an unnamed U.K.-based American bidder. The Bible was one of 100 pieces of Elvis memorabilia up for auction, among them a pair of stained underwear. No one matched the reserve price on those, though, and they went unsold. Apparently holy — not holey — was the preference of the day. [Source]
