Detective's 10-year-old daughter uses cocaine to wow science fair

1/30/2013

Having a cop for a parent has some advantages. Such as being able to say, "Hey Dad, can I borrow an ounce of cocaine and some police dogs so I can ace this science fair?" Fourth-grader Emma Bartelt was awarded an honorable mention at Miami-Dade County Public Schools Elementary Science Fair for her project "Drug Sniffing Dogs." Detective Douglas Bartelt reportedly took care of the drugs, so his 10-year-old daughter did not touch the cocaine that was hidden in a metal box and sniffed out by Levi, Franky and Roger. Said Emma's mom of her husband, "He's always very meticulous about how he handles drugs." [Source]
