Leave it to the Empire State Building to make LED lights look classy. New York's landmark tower showed off its new fluidly colorful high-tech lighting capabilities Monday night with a radio-simulcast display set to Alicia Keys' "Girl on Fire" and "Empire State of Mind," setting the city skyline aglow. The new lights' stats — 16 million colors that cross-fade, ripple, sparkle, sweep, strobe and burst in myriad combinations — may captivate our minds, but when the camera in this video pulls back to take in the city's lit-up expanse, it's our hearts that expand. The dark, powerless post-Sandy days (and nights) are now a thing of the past, and the Big Apple's brilliance hasn't dimmed one bit.
