Curious Englishman visits every country in the world without flying
11/27/2012British man Graham Hughes has been on the road for so long, he just visited a country — South Sudan — that didn't even exist when he set out to see the world. Hughes, 33, says he's taken almost four years to visit 201 countries with nary a plane ride. When he started his 203 week-long jaunt in Uruguay on January 1, 2009, Hughes vowed he'd only travel by "scheduled ground transport," which has sometimes included a "leaky wooden boat" or two. Hughes said the highlight of his truly epic journey has been "the fact that people I've met on the road have been so friendly." [Source]
