Law students arrested for decapitating rare bird on Vegas jaunt
10/14/2012Two law students from UC-Berkeley were arrested and face felony charges of suspicion of conspiracy and willful malicious killing of wildlife after allegedly beheading an endangered bird in Las Vegas on Friday. Cops say the 24-year-old men, Eric Cuellar and Justin Teixeira, decapitated an exotic 14-year-old helmeted guinea fowl at the Flamingo resort-casino. The friends were seen on surveillance video chasing the bird into some trees, then coming out laughing with the bird's body and severed head. The poor creature was part of the Flamingo's Wildlife Habitat. That shattering sound you hear? Oh, that's just the sound of our faith in humanity exploding into 1,000 tiny pieces. [Source]
