'Proud' Google boss has pet name for tax avoidance: 'Capitalism'

12/14/2012

Currently inflaming Twitter is news that Google boss Eric Schmidt is not only unreservedly unapologetic for the company using every trick in the book to avoid paying tax, he's proud of it. "I'm very proud of the structure that we set up," the executive chairman said in an interview in New York. Pointing out that the practices the company engages in to avoid paying around $2 billion in taxes globally are completely legal, Schmidt went as far as to give it a cute name — "capitalism." "We are proudly capitalistic," he said. "I'm not confused about this." [Source]
