Female quarterback's debut is brief, but she's ready for more9/1/2012
There weren't any dramatic 50-yard touchdown passes, but Erin DiMeglio did indeed get to experience the Friday night lights to become the first girl to play quarterback in Florida high-school history. With fans at South Plantation in Davie chanting, "Put Erin in," the 17-year-old trotted onto the field in the closing minutes to take two snaps from the shotgun formation and hand off to a running back, after which she had to field questions in front of a dozen reporters and cameras. "People need to get over her being a girl and just look at her abilities," said her sister, Amy. "That's what she wants." [Source]
