First female high school quarterback does NOT throw like a girl

8/30/2012

It's not surprising that 17-year-old Erin DiMeglio has plans on Friday night. But playing quarterback for her high school football team? Yeah, that got our attention. Erin made an appearance for the South Plantation High School Paladins during a preseason game, and if the third-stringer gets the nod tomorrow night, she'll become the first girl to play quarterback in Florida history. "Erin can actually do what we ask of her," said coach Doug Gatewood, who coached Erin in flag football and encouraged her to try out for the varsity team. "She completes the passes I ask, she knows the plays."  And, after completing all of her preseason passes, she's officially off to a better start than Tim Tebow. [Source]
