Former bull rider, 79, knocks out alleged intruder before breakfast
12/5/2012Charles Smith, 38, allegedly made a few mistakes early Monday morning that included getting high on bath salts and knocking on the wrong door. Police say Smith, armed with a rifle, broke off the screen door of Ervin Brittnacher's home in League City, Texas. Brittnacher, a 79-year-old former bull rider, promptly punched the armed intruder in the throat and karate-chopped the side of his neck, knocking him out cold for the police to pick up. Brittnacher later offered these wise words: "I used to own a nightclub, and I knew it was never a good idea to talk to people holding guns." [Source]
