Escaped monkey causes most hilarious flight delay ever

5/25/2012

It sounds like a potential Matt LeBlanc movie script, but an escaped monkey caused a China-bound flight to be delayed for four hours on Thursday. The animal caused all kinds of expensive hijinks at New York's JFK airport after breaking out of his crate in the Air China 747's cargo hold. Airport workers and emergency service personnel teamed up to track him down (and we can't picture this scene without hearing the "Benny Hill" theme music). The monkey was one of "50 or 60" being flown to China for medical research, so we understand his reluctance to board the plane. "He was a slippery little beast," one police source said. Sorry, monkey. You fought the good fight.
