Escaped puppy runs wild on airport runway

It isn't called a runway for nothing! A puppy called Byrdie made a bid for freedom while being loaded onto a plane at New York's La Guardia Airport. A Port Authority spokesman said, "Byrdie got out of her cage and decided that Runway 31 would be the best place to get some exercise." The playful Rhodesian Ridgeback skillfully avoided personnel who chased her and at one point defiantly decided to just sit on the runway. But she clearly knows who's the boss -- when workers got the pup's owner off the plane to retrieve her, the obedient dog ran straight over. Minor flight delays aside, we're guessing anyone with a window seat enjoyed the show.
