Ex-NHL enforcer needs protection from ex-pals
6/6/2012Tough guy Darren McCarty got into so many scraps during his 15 seasons in the NHL that the penalty box became his second home. Unfortunately, he also picked up some low-class friends along the way who aren't happy now that he's been trying to ditch his partying lifestyle. McCarty and his new wife, Sheryl, claim that a foursome (including two of McCarty's exes) has made death threats and repeatedly slandered them. It's gotten so bad that the pair got personal protection orders issued by a Michigan court last month -- a power play they hope will ice their harassers.
