Execution day is almost here for beloved death-row pup
7/8/2012Lennox, the pup who gained international fame after being sentenced to doggie death by an Irish city council, may be living out his final days. Protesters, some of whom flew in from England and the United States, gathered yesterday outside Belfast City Hall in a last-ditch effort to save the dog. Another protest is planned for Monday, and a well-known American dog trainer is still petitioning to get him rehomed in the U.S. However, the 7-year-old canine is scheduled to be euthanized this week and it is rumored it could happen as early as tomorrow.
Lennox was seized from his owners in 2010 because he'd been deemed a "pit bull type" breed under the U.K.'s Dangerous Dogs Act. His owners conceded defeat last week after a long struggle to save the dog. Check out these pictures of Lennox, and the fight to save him, over the past two years.
Do you think it's fair to kill Lennox based on his breed?
