Cook carefully: Your nice glass dishes might explode suddenly
12/23/2012Beware of that Christmas ham after it's out of the oven — it might be an explosive experience. Just in time for the holidays comes news of a rising trend of shattering glass cookware. That's right, that seemingly placid casserole could at any second transform itself into an implement of bodily harm, with shards of glass and tuna and noodles flying at your face. While still rare, complaints about spontaneously combusting glassware have risen since from two in 1999 to 144 in 2011. Manufacturers say it's not their products that are to blame, but rather the consumers, who often are unaware or do not read the instructions included with the cookware. [Source]
