Face of tween YouTube trend is in fact a 21-year-old artist
3/3/2012The supposedly insecure tween who appeared on "Good Morning America" as the symbol of the short-lived "Am I ugly" YouTube trend has revealed herself to be a 21-year-old art student, Jezebel reports. "My work focuses on the often awkward transition from young girl to womanhood and how confusing it can be to figure out if you're sexy," Kansas City Art Institute student Sophia Roessler told the website. As part of the art project, Roessler posted her own "Am I ugly" video to YouTube and found herself surprisingly invested in the comments judging her appearance -- specifically, Jezebel notes, those about her hair, which "made her feel s--ttier than she expected."
