Facebook admits it was hacked, but claims your data is safe
2/16/2013Irony alert: someone is looking at Facebook’s private information without permission. The company is the latest U.S. media company to be hacked. Like Twitter, the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, Facebook admits it was breached in January through a well-publicized vulnerability in Oracle’s Java software. The news organizations blame no-gooders working for China, but Facebook isn't saying who it thinks is to blame. The company says there is no evidence user data was compromised, however, which means the hackers may not know that you de-friended Alice Miller in April because she posts way too many cat pictures.
