Facebook and Yahoo to collaborate on search product
11/19/2012Facebook and Yahoo are poised to collaborate on a Web-based search service, according to sources quoted by Britain’s Sunday Telegraph. Yahoo CEO Marissa Meyer and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg are former colleagues at Google, and understand the central role of search in growing their business. Mark Zuckerberg has already hinted that search is the next frontier for Facebook, speculating on a potential way to navigate the Web that leverages the "trillions of connections between friend requests and all the content that's being pushed into the system." Facebook has more than 800 million users worldwide, and Yahoo more than 700 million users across its many products. [Source]
