Viral Facebook birthday invite sparks 'Project-X' style melee

Frustrated that 30 percent of the people who marked "Attending" on your Facebook party invite never showed up? Well, the opposite problem has befallen a girl's 16th birthday party in the small Dutch town of Haren. After the teen forgot to mark the event "private," the invite was forwarded to some 30,000 people, reminiscent of the party film "Project X." Even though the party was canceled and the town begged people to not come, about 3,000 determined party people showed up anyway, some wearing custom "Project X Haren" T-shirts. The situation deteriorated into rioting.
