Facebook IPO will make Bono the world's richest rocker
5/18/2012A new crop of billionaires is going to spring up tomorrow when Facebook's massive IPO goes down, and thanks to some savvy investing, the stock offering will also christen Bono the world's richest rock star. The U2 front man is a co-founder of the Elevation Partners investment firm, which bought 2.3 percent of Mark Zuckerberg's social network for a cool $90 million back in 2009. According to Nasdaq, that investment could be worth more than $1.5 billion when the deal wraps up, putting Bono past the current richest man in rock, Sir Paul McCartney, whose net worth is estimated at just over $1 billion. And this is all on top of the estimated $736 million Bono's earned in the past few years from concert tickets and record sales.
What should Bono do with all that money?
