Then a student blogger at Aberystwyth University in Wales detected a major security flaw in Facebook's "Midnight Delivery" app — which automatically sends messages to your friends at the stroke of midnight — that allowed total strangers to access your private New Year's messages and even delete them. OK, so Jack Jenkins had the geek cred to tweak the URL to gain entry, but after he posted instructions so novices could practice the hack, Facebook was forced to disable the service for a few hours to reprogram it.
