Looking at your own Facebook photos boosts your mood
3/18/2013We all know — and science has proven— that looking at Facebook photos can make us miserable. But it turns out that may only be true about other people's photos. Looking at old photos of ourselves, researchers now say, boosts our mood. According to a new study, 90 percent of Facebook users page back through our own wall posts, and 75 percent look at our own photos to cheer ourselves up when we're feeling down. This allows us to "connect with our past selves" — reminding us of good times "when our present selves need reassuring," the study's lead author says. [Source]
