Awful people retweet fake note from fake Sandy Hook victim
12/15/2012The massacre of 26 people, 20 of them young children, at an elementary school in Connecticut was, for most, shocking and gut-wrenching. For some lower life forms, it was an opportunistic time to be a jackass. Twitter user @joearmstrong24 tweeted a note written by "Ellie," purportedly one of the young victims, to her terminally ill father and said "this deserves endless retweets." It has received more than 4,000, but also anger from respondents who say they can't fathom why anyone would want to troll for retweets over this senseless act. The note was slammed as an obvious fake; for instance, it has many British English spellings ("mummy," "tumour") and turns of phrase ("meet up for a coffee") a young child in Connecticut likely would not use.
