Miss the 2000s? Listen to Fall Out Boy's first new song in three years

2/5/2013

"My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)," is the first single from Fall Out Boy’s soon-to-be-released album, “Save Rock And Roll,” due out in May. The track is the first song released by the band in three years, and it feels like we never left the mid-2000s: pounding drumlines, a raging chorus and lyrics recalling teenage passion and wanting to tear people (and things) apart take us back a to time when Tom ruled the internet. Although 2 Chains never once utters a word in the song, he makes up for it by lighting a lot of things on fire and being flanked by beautiful women in leather. If this is a harbinger of things to come, here's to hoping 2013 is the year gangsta rappers make pop punk relevant again. An A$ap Rocky and Motion City Soundtrack collab, anyone?
