You probably remember lots of stuff that didn't happen, study says

Remember that huge debacle last year with the politician and the monkey in Times Square? Yeah, actually … that didn’t happen. But if you thought you remembered it, don’t worry! You're just one of the roughly 50 percent of people who often recall fabricated political events when asked, according to a sweeping new study on memory. The report, published in the March edition of the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, asked 5,269 participants about memories of fabricated political events, and found that about half the participants falsely remembering things and 27 percent thinking they'd seen them on the news. Could it be that all the junk politicians say and do just starts blending together after a while? [Source]
