Family dog steps in to nurse kittens after mother cat dies
6/24/2012Molly the White English Bulldog is a rare breed, literally and figuratively -- the canine miraculously stepped in to nurse some kittens in Alabama after their clumsy owner killed the mama cat with his car. When 84-year-old Elbert Bristow accidentally ran over feline matriarch Kitty Kitty, Molly began feeding the kittens as if they were her own pups, since she had given birth to puppies six weeks earlier, and was still lactating. Now the kittens follow her around like she's their mother, Bristow said. (And we know what you're thinking: That's no bulldog. But it is, a breed found only in the Southern U.S.)
