1/24/2013For more than 30 years, Benito Hernandez and his wife have lived under a rock near San José de las Piedras, located in Mexico about 50 miles from Texas. Like time travelers from the Stone Age, they cook on a wood-burning stove and retrieve water from a nearby mountain spring — sorry, no plumbing. Hernandez decided he would live under the 131-foot rock when he fell in love with it as an 8-year-old. The couple has raised seven kids in this back-to-basics abode, making our Viking stoves and George Foreman grills look pretty indulgent. [Source]
