Fan's customized 'Black Guy' jersey raises eyebrows

When it comes to racial diversity, the "H" in NHL might as well stand for "homogenized." Black players are largely underrepresented, which means that when this hilaaaarious Philadelphia Flyers fan customized his jersey by writing "The Black Guy" on the nameplate, there was no doubt that he was talking about forward Wayne Simmonds. The debate lies in whether the jersey is appropriate, especially following the online abuse directed at Washington Capitals game winner Joel Ward or the actual banana that was thrown at Simmonds during an exhibition game. "I hope in his men's league, [that fan's] jersey says 'The Dumb Guy'," one Puck Daddy commenter wrote. Now that's funny.
