Farmer buys his cows waterbeds to keep them comfy

"Happier cows, happier milk," says Ben Van Loon, an Oregon farmer who just bought hundreds of bovine waterbeds to keep his cows comfy at night. The luxurious sleeping quarters work similarly to any pad you might find at Mattress World, with rolled bags that get filled with water and installed on the floor of the cattle stalls. As the cows start to lie down, water moves to the front bladder to provide better cushioning. Van Loon is just one of several Willamette Valley farmers who's spent upward of $100,000 on the posh pads, which started in Minnesota and have hit the Northwest with vigor. [Source]
