Driver tailgated by cop doesn't speed, gets ticket anyway
1/1/2013Sometimes you just can't win. A young motorist driving from her home in Wyckoff, N.J., to her college was stuck in a highway fast lane, with a trailer-truck to her right and a tailgating cop immediately behind her. What to do? The 20-year-old driver stayed where she was, carefully monitoring her speed at a legal 65 miles per hour. For her trouble, she got stuck with a ticket anyway -- for failing to stay to the right, which is a law in New Jersey, even if you're driving the speed limit. In fact, 18 drivers a day in New Jersey are ticketed for failing to stay right -- to the tune of $85 and two points on their license. [Source]
