FCC wants your electronics cleared for takeoff on flights

Which do you find more irksome: flight attendants harping on passengers to power down their gadgets for takeoff, or fliers who won't comply? Well, both may be annoyances of the past. The Federal Aviation Administration is reviewing its policy on tablets and other electronic devices, and now Federal Communications Commission chairman Julius Genachowski has weighed in favor of allowing their usage in all phases of flights. So far, the FCC hasn't relaxed its stand against the use cellular signals, so we're probably years away from the ultimate irritation of everybody talking on their phones at the same time. Although that might at least drown out any screaming babies.
