Has FedEx been ripping businesses off for years? One guy says so

12/12/2012

Has FedEx been habitually overcharging its business customers, to the tune of more than $3 million? That's what one FedEx sales executive alleges in an internal email unsealed due to a class-action lawsuit against the company. "My belief is that we are choosing not to fix this issue because it is worth so much money to FedEx," wrote Alan Elam, noting that he had alerted company officers a half-dozen times that business clients (including Bank of America Toyota and the National Passport Processing Center) were routinely charged the higher rate FedEx asks for delivering to a residence, even when packages were sent to offices. A FedEx spokesperson said the company will "continue to defend these allegations in a court of law and not the media." [Source]
