7/28/2012If it wasn't embarassing enough that the USA Olympic team uniforms were made in China, we totally missed out on an awesome headwear trend. Athletes from Jamaica, Costa Rica, Spain and other nations strolled into the London Opening Ceremony looking dapper in slick fedoras, Team USA wore hats that were decidedly nerdier: berets. The otherwise reasonably sharp Ralph Lauren ensembles lacked the swagger of cool headwear. Fashion gold medals go to the athletes in fedoras; hopefully Americans will bring home some real hardware.
