Fiat peps up its new cars by adding espresso machines

Guffawing at scalding coffee lawsuits everywhere—as well as a climate of safety-obsessed drivers—Fiat has announced it will put full-blown espresso makers in its subcompact vehicles. In a move that is one part super cool, one part totally ass-minded, the Italian auto manufacturer has equipped its four-door Fiat 500L, due out in October, with an in-car coffee-making machine to give drivers the extra pep they need on the highway. The vehicle will first be available in Italy and then the rest of Europe; however, many doubt it will ever make it to America, where one more driver distraction is unlikely to clear safety regulations.
