'Fifty Shades of Grey' author ropes in $1 million every week
6/29/2012Starving novelists, prepare to die a little bit inside. E.L. James, the author of the terribly written soft-porn, bondage-themed blockbuster "50 Shades of Grey," is making a whopping $1 million a week. The book, which has been alternately slammed and dismissed by critics, has sold a staggering number of copies — so staggering that Jezebel did some math and reckons that by September, James will collect a check for $20 million. And this, presumably, doesn't include participation in the inevitable film adaptation.
