Mortified children of the future can thank '50 Shades' for their names
12/1/2012The supposed "Fifty Shades of Grey" baby boom is bad enough, but now there's news that the popular S&M-lite trilogy is behind the new popularity of baby names including Grey, Anastasia and Ana, after the book's two protagonists (plus a nickname). Grey jumped a massive 20 percent from the pre-"Fifty Shades" days of 2011 — though, interestingly, Christian (that's Mr. Grey's first name) saw no similar increase. We can't wait for all these innocent kids to figure out, as mortified teenagers (think: vaginal balls), the secrets behind their monikers. [Source]
