Firefighters rescue horse that couldn’t resist a muddy swim

The five photos in this gallery tell the dramatic rescue story of this 27-year old gelding trapped in a murky pond in the U.K. town of Radcliffe. It took this dedicated team of firefighters more than three hours to dislodge poor Jeremy, who had already been submerged for hours before owner Jayen Renshaw discovered him Monday night. Jeremy survived the ordeal, only suffering from hypothermia that was treated by his trusty vet, and astonishingly, Jeremy’s best bud, Misty the donkey, stood guard the entire time.
