Firefighters use Mega Millions win to help save friend's life
4/4/2012As if we needed another reason to idolize firefighters: Five Albuquerque firemen won $10,000 in last Friday's history-making Mega Millions lottery after matching five of the six winning numbers, and now they've donated part of it to a fellow fireman named Vince Cordova. KOAT says Cordova is fighting a "rare aggressive tumor that puts pressure on his brain" and the surgery he needs costs "hundreds of thousands of dollars". The firemen hope their donation will spur others to support Cordova too. "He's going to overcome it," said firefighter Gilbert Baca. "He's positive and he's strong -- that's the kind of man he is."
