No. 1 Jets fan announces he's hanging up his fireman's helmet
11/26/2012As if a crushing loss on Thanksgiving Day wasn't bad enough for the New York Jets, now comes the news that fan cheerleader "Fireman Ed" Anzalone has decided to quit. Anzalone, best known for wearing a fireman's helmet and leading Jets fans in their chanting, announced his decision in his self-written newspaper column. He claims that the heckling from fellow Jets fans has been so nasty that it's forced him to leave the stadium early for two consecutive games, including the Jets' 49-19 loss to the New England Patriots last week. Anzalone says he'll still attend Jets games, but without his trademark helmet. [Source]
