Why are we not surprised Instagram's first pic was a happy dog?
7/17/2012To celebrate their two-year anniversary, the folks at Instagram reposted the first pic ever to appear on the photo-sharing app. It's a snap depicting a happy-looking dog and someone's foot — setting the tone for the more than one billion photographs that would be shared in the years since, many of which feature animals and/or body parts. (All that's missing is a filter that makes the photo look like it was taken with some hipster's vintage camera.) The Instagram team said they're "humbled" by the enormous community of people who really like sharing pictures of sunsets, their cats and their meals. [Source]
