Brothers survive being trapped on a dam, plan to go fishing again soon
1/23/2013Greg and Gary Cherry have the wildest, most harrowing fish story on the block now — and this one's actually true. The Tennessee brothers say they were fishing for bass Sunday when their motor conked out at the worst time ever — just above the Barren Fork River Dam. As the strong current dragged the boat over the edge, Greg held the motor down to anchor the boat and Gary leaped to the back to help weigh the aft down. There, the two men dangled precariously for 3 hours, suspended over the 12-foot drop until rescue boats retrieved them. "We locked our arms and I said, 'We're in this together,'" Greg said. "I said, 'I love you,' and [Gary] said, 'I love you, too.'" Somehow, they've already made plans to fish again next weekend. [Source]
