5 people are accidentally shot at 3 gun shows on Gun Appreciation Day
1/20/2013Gun control has been an incredibly contentious subject in the past few weeks, and Saturday's incidents on a gun rights group's proclaimed "Gun Appreciation Day" will likely make things worse. Five people were shot and wounded at three different gun shows. At the Dixie Gun and Knife show in Raleigh, N.C., a loaded 12-gauge shotgun went off at a security check and injured three people, none critically. A man at a Medina, Ohio, gun show accidentally shot his friend in with a semi-automatic pistol; the gun dealer had removed the magazine but failed to take out a chambered round before the man bought it. And in Indianapolis, a 54-year-old man was injured when he inadvertently shot himself while leaving a gun show. [Source]
