Florida sheriff wants to fly creepy spy drones for unknown reasons

1/20/2013

For reasons that aren't clear, the sheriff in Orlando, Fla., wants to fly surveillance drones over the city this summer. A spokesman for the sheriff, Jeff Williamson, was mum when it came to the silly little subject of why, exactly, they wanted to use the drones. Similar vessels are known for dumping bombs over potential terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The ones in Florida won’t be armed. The agency is still awaiting approval from the Federal Aviation Administration and local leaders. Opponents are creeped out by the idea of drones being used to spy on law-abiding civilians. Huh, wonder why. [Source]
